Dr. Hanafy is a double board-certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist who is experienced with low to highly complex cases. She uses a thoughtful approach to treat a variety of mental health conditions, and takes a holistic approach when it comes to patient care evaluation and treatment planning. This includes but is not limited to: medication management, therapeutic modalities, behavioral interventions and lifestyle modifications that are evidence-based and standard of care practices.
Dr. Hanafy received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at University of Illinois-Chicago in Chicago, IL. She graduated from medical school at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. She completed her general psychiatry residency at University of South Carolina-Palmetto Health. She pursued further specialization and completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital with Northwestern University.
Prior to joining the team at ADI Health, Dr. Hanafy worked in Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Outpatient Program (PHP/IOP) setting where she treated child and adolescent patients with a range of conditions including but not limited to ADHD, OCD, tics, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, emotion dysregulation, mood and anxiety disorders within Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Hanafy enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, exploring new restaurants and museums, watching movies and dancing. She is a native Arabic speaker.
