Kate Cicchelli, Ed.D.
SCHOOL ADVOCATE & PARENT COACH
HOURS: By Appointment Only
Kate Cicchelli is an experienced educator with twenty-five-years experience in school administration and academic development. Kate is a skilled educational advocate who prioritizes relationship-building and collaboration in partnering with youth, families, and their local independent and private schools.
As a teacher, Kate created rich classroom environments to facilitate skill-building and learning agility in youth. Teaching students aged 2-16 at premier independent schools in Illinois, Park West Cooperative Nursery School, North Shore Country Day, and Francis W. Parker, she mastered curriculum development, student-centered program development, and individualized approaches for neurodiverse learners. And as founder and principal at Bennett Day School, Kate blended data-based programming with a research-based original curriculum for a developmentally rich academic and social-emotional program for preschool - upper school students. She worked closely with public and private school learning resource educators to create responsive learning plans for students, and home-school learning plans to ensure consistency and follow through in supporting students in school and outside of school. Kate brings her commitment to partnership and relationships to her work with ADI families.
Kate has a BA in English with a Minor in Classics in Women and Gender studies from Kenyon. She received an MEd in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois Chicago. Kate is a Certified Coach through the Coach Training Alliance.
In her free time, Kate can be found gardening in the Three Oaks Community Garden, throwing the ball for her chocolate lab, trying a new recipe, and nerding out with Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Sudoku with her daughter.
